During my years as a photography assistant
Art — A Journey Through Form and Vision
I’m an artist, photographer, and sculptor. My work reflects my perspective and experience. With over 30 years working in sculpture, painting, photography, and other visual forms, I’ve been fortunate to work on two continents and experience different cultures.
Along the way, I’ve collaborated with—and assisted—photographers, artists, creative directors, and established creators. I’ve exhibited in galleries in both Los Angeles and Stockholm, as well as in museums in Sweden. This hands-on journey has helped me develop my craft and find my artistic voice.
Woman in Bronze

Assistant to the sculptor Jonathan Bickart

For three years, I served as an assistant to sculptor Jonathan Bickart. This photograph was taken in his Los Angeles studio in 1995 while I contributed to the creation of a statue of Griffith Jenkins Griffith.
Today, outside Griffith Park, the 14-foot-tall bronze statue, honoring Colonel Griffith J. Griffith, greets all visitors to the park named after him – the biggest in the US.

Jonathan in the studio at 4 AM. I snapped this pic an hour before the mold maker showed up. It took us over three years to finish the statue.

Shape by Stiles
“The Abstract Body” from the photo series featuring dancer Suzette Stiles Slaughter
The nude body holds an abstract beauty that transcends the physical. It symbolizes a primordial form, liberated from societal molds and cultural expectations. In its nakedness, the body emerges as a sculpture, a harmonious arrangement of lines, curves, and shapes, crafting an unparalleled aesthetic.

Fotomat
Fotomat, is an ongoing series of photographs explores themes of life and intimacy.
In September 2008, following an brain surgery that put my sight at risk, I began a personal project. To rehabilitate my vision, I started taking extremely close-up photographs of the plants in my mother’s Skåne garden. These images offer a fresh perspective on the plants that nourish us, revealing the raw power and delicate beauty inherent in all living things.

Since its inception in 1958, Ramverkstan has had extensive collaborations with a wide range of artists in Sweden. One of Stockholm’s foremost painters, Stig Claeson (Slas), was a frequent visitor to the frame shop. Notably, my photographs were featured in their window display during the month of August 2023.
